Rohit Sharma Biography
Rohit Sharma is an Indian cricketer and is currently the Indian
ODI and T20 team’s vice-captain. He also serves as the captain of the IPL team
Mumbai Indians. He has a number of records under his name. Rohit Sharma has
scored under his name. Rohit Sharma has scored 3 double-centuries in ODI, in
audition, to the centuries in T20 and test formats too. Due to his hard-hitting
ability, he is also famously known as ‘the hit man’. He gained recognition
right from his early days. He started at a mere age of 20 and soon was getting
praises for his mature and clam performance.
Early Life
Born on April 30 1987 in Nagpur, Maharashtra, in a family of
limited means, he soon found his interest in cricket. He caught the eye of Dinesh
lad, a cricket coach, who supported him financially to get admission into swami
Vivekananda international school. He shone in the school cricket tournaments
scoring a century.
Career

Due to his poor form, he was not considered for the 2011
world cup as well. However, he revived from his bad from in 2011 match against West
Indies, securing ‘Man Of Series’ award. His 2 half-centuries and a phenomenal
86 of 91 balls when India was struggling at 92-6 again raised his ranks.
Rohit Sharma made his test debut in November 2013 and scored
impressive 2 back to back centuries. Rohit Sharma is now the third Indian
batsmen to achieve this after Sourav Ganguly and Mohammad Azaruddin. In 2014,
his career took another upswing when he broke a series of ODI records against
Sri*Lanka scoring 264 runs. This was the instance of 2 double hundreds and
ODI’s first 250.
Due to his brilliant performance, he was bought for US $2
million in IPL 2011 season by the Mumbai Indians team. Under his captaincy the
team won in the season 2013, 2015 and 2017. In 2017 he captained the team in Sri Lanks
series in the absence of the skipper Virat Kholi. A win of 2-1 in ODI and 3-0 in T20 series was famously registered.

- Rohit Sharma received a number of ‘Man Of Match’ and series awards.
- Rohit Sharma was honored with ‘Arjuna Award” in 2015.
- He is the only one player to score 264 runs in ODIs.
- He is the only Indian who has centuries in all formats of cricket, other than Suresh raina.
